He got out of work early for his birthday, so we dropped Brie off with Grandma Rama and went to the movie that Scott has been desperately waiting for, "Stranger Than Fiction". It was very good. I am not a big fan of Will Ferrell, but I really liked him in this movie. The story was quite clever and original. During the movie I presented Scott with his traditional Birthday Cheese Ball. That is right - cheese ball. I asked Scott if he wanted a cake for his birthday on the very first of his birthdays that we celebrated together and he told me no, because he doesn't love dessert. Well, he does love CHEESE! So Randi made him a cheese ball and we put candles all over it. This year there were no candles because we were in a movie theater, but there was a Birthday Cheese Ball and wheat thin crackers and a diet coke to enjoy during the movie.
After the movie, we met my family (that is here) and Scott's family (that is here) at Buca De Beppo's for dinner. It was so cool. We had "The Pope's Table" reserved and it fit all of us in a big circle so that we could see and talk to each other. As you can see it was decorated with all "Pope" memorabilia.
Dinner was delicious. We had Gnocchis and pizza and spaghetti and pork. Then the dessert came. Wowee! It was sooooooo good.
Scott had the birthday song sung to him with a whole candelabra to blow out. Very cool.
It was a fun, fun night. Thank you so much to those who celebrated with us and made Scott feel special on his day. Thank you so much to everyone else for the phone calls and cards. You are very good to us.

It was a great day--I got to tend Brielle and also eat dinner with my youngest son and the family. The food was delicious. It was nice to spend some time with the Allreds. We hope they'll come to SLC more often. Happy-day-after your birthday, Scott. We love you.
Wow!! That looks like a great (and delicious) celebration. We miss being in town to celebrate with you, but it appears that you didn't let our absence get you down. Happy Birthday Scott!
