Holiday Highlights

There was a lot going on this holiday season with family and friends beyond Christmas and birthday. Here are some of the highlights from our holidays.

1. Fred and Rama's 44th anniversary was December 27. We had my parents babysit the kids and we took them out to dinner at the Market Street Grill with the adults only. It was marvelous! Happy Anniversary!
2. I had a tooth ache all through Christmas. I went to see the dentist as soon as he was back in the office (Dec. 27) and got to have a root canal. I didn't enjoy the above mentioned dinner as much as I wish I could have.

3. It snowed almost every day my family was here. It was beautiful and cold. Some liked it, some whined about it (Dad), some sledded in it, some shoveled it (thank you Mom).

4. We got to have a visit from some of our favorite people - Tim, Becky and Caroline Wilson - all the way from Boston! It was so great to have them come over and hang out with us. We miss them.5. Scott's reaction when I told him I went after Christmas shopping with my mom and Bryce and got us new stockings. I got one for me, one for him and five more for kids! Just in case. :) He DID NOT think that was necessary.

6. A day of fun with Landon, Sarah and Aiden. Dad took us all to Peruvian food for lunch and then to mini golf. We had a blast!

7. We got to go to our new nephew's baby blessing in Orem. Andrew (born 2 weeks after Ava) was blessed by his dad, Alan. We had a nice time at Laura's family's house afterward for lunch.

8. A car accident. The morning of the baby blessing was a huge snow storm. Scott left to go pick his parents up to drive them to Orem. He called me about ten minutes later and said that he (and Brie) was waiting at a stop light when a car couldn't slow down in the snow and rear ended him. He is fine, Brie is fine and the van is getting a new bumper right now.

9. Rick (Digby), Arielle and new Spencer Kone came to visit! It was so great to spend the evening with them and meet Spencer. Spencer was born one month after Ava. They took quite a liking to each other.10. Another birthday party for Brie. The girl was on present overload on Christmas so we held some back. A few days later we opened birthday presents with Grandma and Grandpa Allred. She LOVED her new dress up clothes!

Brielle's 2nd Birthday

Brielle turned two years old on December 25. She had a fabulous birthday. She got to celebrate with both grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and of course, mommy, daddy and baby Ava. She got lots of great presents and was sung Happy Birthday lots of times. What a birthday for our Brie!

Christmas afternoon (birthday time) was spent with Scott's side of the family. We left my family at our house and went to Scott's parent's house for a Christmas dinner, more gifts and a birthday party.

After dinner and Christmas presents from cousins and grandparents we got to start a Cinderella birthday party. We had taken Brie to choose the plates, cups, hats, etc. for her birthday and she chose Cinderella EVERYTHING! At least most of the cousins are girls (sorry Connor.) We made her a birthday cake of cupcakes to look like a Christmas tree. She wanted some pink ones too so Scott made pink ones to be the presents around the tree. We had pink (peppermint) ice cream too.

Here is the birthday girl in her birthday princess hat that my mom brought. She is holding her favorite present from Grandma Rama - the movie Cinderella. Thank you to everyone for making Brie's birthday such a fun day. She (and we) felt all the love. Happy Birthday Brie!

Christmas

Christmas morning came and Scott and I were lying in bed just waiting for Brielle to finally wake up! I was more excited than I have been since I was a kid waiting for Santa. Well, she took forever, but finally woke up. We went in to her room and sang her Happy Birthday and then took her downstairs to see what Santa left for her.Santa brought Brie a kitchen (that we bought on Craigslist months ago) and some pots, pans, dishes, apron, etc. to go with it. She was very excited, but mostly about the orange squeeshy ball Scott put in her stocking. You'll see in the back ground that Santa left me a bread machine so I can be a bread baker like Laura and Landon and brought Scott his wedding ring that he lost a month ago. Amazing.Everyone was treated well Christmas morning. It was very fun. We had my mom, dad, Bryce, Tawna and Krista with us opening presents. Landon and Sarah came later to open presents and talk to Evan (brother on mission in Seattle).

Krista got a session to EFY this summer.

Tawna got an Ipod.Bryce got a base for his Ipod. He was mostly thrilled that you could take it out to a park or mountains on a date and it will play music without needing a cord. Good luck to you Bryce!Mom got the hottest boots in the funkiest wrapping job.Scott got some dental work with the new Viper Grip that he got from my mom and dad. He was also thrilled to finally get XM radio.Brielle showing us her new baby doll.I got the coolest new necklace that I took Brie to the store to choose and then wrap. Scott did an awesome job of making sure I had a VERY nice Christmas. He followed my list perfectly.Ava REALLY enjoyed her new toys.Bryce gave my mom and dad the most thoughtful gift. They went on a trip to Italy this summer. It was a life long dream of my dad's. They didn't bring home any souvenirs. Bryce gave them a beautiful replica of the Pieta. Landon and Sarah came and gave me the COOLEST diaper bag that Sarah made. It is so cute. And they got to open some presents themselves. We all got a white Christmas. And best of all, we all got to talk to Evan.
