We have seriously lucked out. My younger sister,
Tawna, came to live with us!
Tawna is 19 and finished high school a year ago. She was working and hanging out in Bakersfield and then decided she wanted a change. We offered her our guest bedroom in the basement. Utah is a fun place to be for a young, single
LDS person, so she decided to come!
It has been a dream for us. Honestly.
Tawna is the easiest person you could ever have living with you. She never leaves a mess, she is so fun to hang out with and talk to, she is
sooooooooooo easy going and she is AMAZINGLY good with kids. It's great for me to have a friend during the day and it is awesome for Brie and Ava (and me) to have someone else to play with. When we go out she takes one girl and I take the other. Around the house she helps the girls if I am busy with something else. She is so good at seeing a need and taking care of it. It really is
soooooo good to have her here with us.
Brielle pretending to put Tawna to bed. She tucked her in with all of these stuffed animals. The other day Tawna was sick, but she let Brie pretend to do her make up and hair while she lied there.
But unfortunately, she is not here to hang out with me during the day or to take care of our kids. She had to get a job. She got one pretty quick just because the lady fell in love with her. One little girl called her Willy
Wonka. She works at a chocolate and candy shop. She makes chocolates, cotton candy, pulls taffy, all of it. Doesn't that sound great? The shop is really close to home too.

Tawna has also started going to a few different singles wards to check them out. She has a cute friend that has gone with her to institute and
FHE and ice cream socials. So, yes, she is fully into the singles scene now. And we are hoping she continues to make good friends, enjoy her job and be happy here with us.
Tawna headed out the door to the ice cream social.
Brielle (at the bathroom door while Tawna was getting ready) BEGGING her to let her come to the ice cream party too! Seriously. She had her shoes (slippers) on, bag in hand and was DESPERATE for Tawna to agree to take her.
Last night we went up the canyon for a picnic dinner and a short
FHE lesson. The fall colors were already gorgeous. We had a good time. It's nice to have Tuna Malinda as part of the fam.

The lesson.
The princess.

I'm SO jealous. You have no idea.
Ava looks bigger- not fatter bigger, but longer.
Tawna's hair looks longer.
Utah is beautiful as always.
You guys are so lucky.
It's about time you blogged again. I can always count on you for a new blog so this last week has been a little rough...
It looks awesome to have Tawna living with you. Has she thought about Virginia? The singles scene is pretty non-existent, but I do know a few single law students who will be making the big bucks pretty soon. Maybe have Tawna give me a call.
And kudos to you for having FHE without Scott. I don't know if I would have the initiative to do that.
Oh my gosh, that tooth is so cute. Did she just cut it? And please tell Malinda we have a guest room available when she's ready for Boston!
We miss her but are happy she is happy and grateful to you and Scott for making it possible.
I'm now realizing Scott is in those pictures. So I take back my compliment.
Well, Sarah's second comment made me laugh. I love this blog. You all are so happy and the FHE in the outdoors is perfect. Yay, Tawna for your first paycheck and getting busy with the LDS singles scene! We do miss her, she is a calming influence.
