Our first night I got to go "out with the girls". These girls were very close friends. We worked together and it was an absolute thrill to be with them again and catch up on their lives.
We all stayed at a super nice Renaissance hotel on the Boston waterfront (thank you Priceline). Here is Ava showing Scott the boats out the window.
Randi flew all night, showed up at our hotel room and was ready to hit the town. Boy, was it good to have that girl with us again! Here we are headed down Congress St. (the street I worked on).
We walked through Boston Common and went right to the Frog Pond to dip our feet in. Loved it!!
Boston Common takes you to The Public Gardens. It's all so pretty and has so many memories. Mostly of dates with other boys. Boston Common is where Scott proposed though.
We rode the Swan Boats through the Public Gardens.
Is she GORGEOUS or what?
We found the "Make Way For Ducklings" statues to play on.
Yes, Brie is pant less. She was soaked from the Frog Pond.
We ate lunch at a favorite place on Boylston St. and then walked on Newbury St. One of my favorite places to walk.
Kamber (my roommate for 9 years and best friend), Brian, Samantha and Spencer joined us after resting up from their flight. We were all together again!! It really meant everything to me that Kamber and Randi were with us for this big trip back to Boston.
We all went to a little restaurant in the North End (Italian section) for dinner. It was pure chaos with the kids, but we ate DELICIOUS Italian food.
And then, of course, every North End dinner is followed with Mike's Pastry for dessert.
Our two girls with their treats from Mike's Pastry.
Ava L.O.V.E.D her first Canoli.
The next day we did the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is a walking trail through many of the historic sites of Boston. I always took visitors along the Freedom Trail and it took a couple of hours. It took us ALL day with feeding kids, changing diapers, asking 2 year olds to catch up, etc.
The girls at the beginning of the Freedom Trail at the Bunker Hill monument. Ready to go!
Scott and Brian carrying the girls along the red brick trail.
We went aboard "Old Ironsides", The U.S.S Constitution.
Brielle showing Samantha all of the details of the oldest war ship still afloat in the world.
Scott and Brie had their very own "Boston Tea Party". Scott brought English Tea packets from our hotel room for them to "dump" into the ocean as they chanted, "Dump the tea! Dump the tea!"
The new Zaken bridge in the background.
The Old North Church where the lanterns were hung, "One if by land, Two if by sea", to alert Paul Revere.
Brie and Samantha found a bench they liked in the church, got out the hymnals and started singing.
Quincy Market.
Faneuil Hall.
We ended here at the Old State House, site of the Boston Massacre.

Ooohh, I LOVE this post. These sites are the exact ones you had Brian and I go to when we were there. I loved that historic walk and the canoli. Oh, the canoli. I even think we ate at that exact italian restaurant- but like you, having a small child there made it not so memorable. That was such an amazing vacation. You were the perfect hostess. I am so glad Kamber and Randi were there with you. One of my fondest memories of Boston is eating a piece of Randi's rhubarb pie AND her coconut/chocolate chip pancakes(which are now one of my favorite treats). Looks like you all had an amazing time.
