Kate Takes Off

It is official. We have FOUR walking, running, mobile children. It took Kate awhile to actually choose to be a walker, but by 15 months she got up and took off. She had proven months before that she could actually take the steps, but still chose crawling as her form of transportation. It was starting to drive me crazy. The weather was warmer and we were outside in the backyard or at parks more. She was still dragging her knees through the grass, mud and dirt ruining every pair of pants she has. She started to get just as frustrated as I was, but for her it was because she is a hoarder. She always has her hands and arms full of random goods that she absolutely MUST carry around. Not so easy when you are a crawler. So Kate was shuffling around on her knees until finally she figured out . . . walking! Yeah!!
Kate could walk all over with the help of her little stroller. Ava obeys the "wear a helmet when on anything with wheels" rule strictly. She buckled Kate into her helmet for a little walk with her baby. Safety first.
Until, we had an evening of practicing and Kate was so excited. She became a real walker even without her stroller.

Only problem now (well, maybe not the only problem) is that I find the girl in all kinds of new daring places with her new found skill. TA DA!! Heaven help us.
