Oh My Goodness, Bakersfield!

We came home from our trip to Bakersfield and Brielle has been saying "Oh my goodness!" since we walked through the door. "Oh my goodness, everything is still here!" "Oh my goodness, our shoes came home!" "Oh my goodness, I missed you so much purple turtle!" She is glad to be home, but we sure did have a PERFECTLY WONDERFUL trip to California.

Here is Ava flying on the plane to grandma and grandpa's house in California.
We got to lounge around my mom and dad's house and relax. We got to hit all of our favorite eating spots - In n' Out Burger, Mexican food, USA Yogurt. We got to hear all about the fascinating lives of my younger sisters, Tawna and Krista.

We got to celebrate my mom's birthday!(This pic cracks me up. We brought mom some Cowboy Mix candy with her present. As soon as it came out the vulture candy begging children pounced on her!) We got to swim! Brie has been so excited to go to grandma and grandpa's house and swim. She wore her swim suit all day every day the week before we left. She was thrilled to finally jump in the hot tub and the "cold tub".We got to play with cousins - Davin, Kea and Blake. We love them and miss them already.(This is grandma helping the girls "take Piko on a walk" around the park.)We got to watch Scott get "flowbeed" by my dad. Yes, that is an actual Flowbee that you've seen on infomercials and always made fun of. My dad bought this 20 years ago and it has been cutting hair in our house ever since. We got to take a bath in grandma's kitchen sink. Well, the girls did. It was the perfect size.We got to go out on a date with my mom, dad, Tawna and Krista to the hottest hot spot in B-town, The Crystal Palace. It was live country music and country dancing at it's finest. We even heard Buck Owens son sing "Walkin' the Streets of Bakersfield".We got to go to Davin's baseball game and cheer him on. The girls enjoyed the snacking part of the game. (Davin's on second base about to run all the way home.)We got to pick grandpa's pretty flowers and run around his beautiful yard with Piko. He wasn't too happy about the picking of the flowers though. And best of all, we got to go to Disneyland, California Adventure and Scott got to go to the Dodgers game. It was two days of total fun with everyone. Jessica was even there! That post will come next.

What a wonderful way to remember the week. We loved it, too, and are still recovering.

YEAH!! I love posts of when you guys get together. I love to see all the pictures and hear how much fun you had. Yes it is true that it makes me a little jealous, but it also remind me how much I love my family and going home. :)
The girls are beautiful and you and Scott are both looking fabulous. I love the picture of the three older kids in goggles. Thanks for the post.

Wow! What a fun trip. Wish we could have come along ... always good times at the Allred Casienda! I love the picts of the girls in the kitchen sink. It must be a BIG sink, to fit Brie? Wow! Glad you had such a wonderful visit at home.
