Halloween Dress Up

Brielle - A fairy princess that transforms into a mermaid ballerina. (That is really what she told people. There was no transforming involved.)

Ava - A pretty, pretty pink princess. (Brielle's "Glenda the Good Witch" costume from Wizard of Oz)
Zachary - A turtle. (The best is watching him crawl around with his tortoise shell on.)
How many times can you dress three kids up for Halloween? Well, for us it was almost every day last week. Good thing they love dressing up and even better, love getting the candy that comes with dressing up.

1. Play Group "Fall Festival"
This was a real hit with the kids. So fun. Our playgroup had all the kids come in costume and all the moms brought a snack to share and a game to play. (Ava was Dora for this party and then saw all the girls in their "pretty pretty princess" dresses and decided to change things for the rest of the week). They played games like Halloween Bingo, Cake Walk, Face Painting, Bean Bag toss, Donut Eating, Bounce House, Fishing Pond and more. I was in charge of the donut eating contest. It was hilarious to watch.
The awesome food.Zachy found two things he loved at this party. He was kept happy the whole time. A baby girl named Jane and the fact that kids were leaving uneaten candy all over the floor for him to find and enjoy. Mmmmm.
2. Ballet Class
Both Brielle and Ava got to dress up for their ballet/tap class. This was super exciting! The dance studio was decorated for Halloween, all their friends were dressed up, they danced to spooky music and got candy at the end. The teachers really did make it so cute for the dancers. They loved it.

BrielleMaking scary faces.

AvaLove this tippy toe stretch.
3. Preschool Parade
Brielle dressed up in her costume for a parade with her preschool up and down the street. She got to pound the drum. They had a party afterward where she ate "real live frog juice and bat cookies". Yikes!4. Trick or Treating at Dad's Work
Scott's work invited all the kids to come to the office for trick or treating and games. We picked Brie up from preschool and went directly downtown for the party. They got more candy, listened to stories, played some games and got balloons. Everyone was happy.5. Trunk Or Treat
We then went straight from Scott's work party to our church parking lot for Trunk Or Treat. We decorated (kinda) the back of the mini van and then went from car to car collecting even more candy. It was fun to be with all of our ward friends and see everyone's cool costumes.Ready to go home with all the loot they have gathered.
6. Trick Or Treating
Finally, Saturday (because we live in Utah) came and we got to put on our costumes for the last time, hit the streets and trick or treat through the neighborhood. It was cold. It was rainy. But they endured . . . . for a little while. We were out for almost an hour when the girls started crying and begging to be done and go home. When we did go home with bags full of candy they dumped it out, sorted it, played with it and threw it around the room, but did not eat any. Seriously. They wanted to eat the apple that they got. Even without the sugar from the candy they were literally bouncing off the walls. It was all just so exciting!Zachy drove along with Scott, but the kid understands full well what this candy stuff is all about and he wanted some too!
Happy Halloween! Anyone want all this candy we have?

This post made me tired. Soo much Halloween fun= too much candy and way too many outfit changes for me.

Regardless, the kids looked ADORABLE in their costumes and I believe the Ava pucker picture will be our new screen saver.(She will be taking over baby Hack's old man face.) So crazy to think of rain on Halloween. What about all the painted faces??

You all really had a fantastic Halloween--costumes, parties, games, candy, and fun, fun, fun. Thanks for showing us the pictures.

A LOT OF FUN! WAY A LOT! The kids look great! What was in the apples at the church party? I think that people throw parties because trick or treating became unpopular, but the kids still go trick or treating. Double (or quadruple) your fun.

A mermaid ballerina?

How is that even possible, I mean, with her flippers and all? Can you ask Brielle for me? I really want to know.
