We went to one of my favorite events to come to Utah last week - The Mascot Bowl. It's fun. It raises money for Lehi High School. Mostly, it is hilarious.
Scott met us after work and we went over early to the high school to meet up with Laura and cousins. Before the game the kids got to ride a little train ride and go from mascot to mascot getting autographs, photographs and high fives from them all. (Our friend, Matt, is in that gorilla costume.)
After all the pre-game fun, the football game started between the Lehi High School ninth graders and every mascot they could round up from Utah and a few surrounding states. It is a crack up to watch these mascots, most with REALLY large, top heavy heads, trying to run, catch and tackle in a game of football. So funny.
At one break they dropped soccer balls and then footballs from 385 ft. (I think) to a Blaze player below. They were trying to make a new world record and when he caught it on about the 15th try, they did.Mascots everywhere!
I was happy to catch this special moment between Cosmo and Swoop. There really is love and friendship there. We should frame this and put it up in our house.
We packed it up at half time to take kids home to bed to dream about large and fuzzy bees, cougars, tigers and horses!
