We came over with the van after school so we could bring his tree home. We drove up and Brielle saw that huge blue spruce and said, "How are we ever going to fit THAT tree into our house?" We checked it out and then played inside with Grandma and Papa while Scott took care of leaves and cutting down his tree out in the freezing cold.
Fred and Rama planted this tree in their backyard 40 years ago.
When we were all inside and warm the kids played, read Grandma's really good Christmas books and then we were able to help put up their Christmas tree. One thing is for sure - bringing up an artificial prelit tree from the basement is a whole lot easier than cutting down your own tree.We took the Blue Spruce home on the top of the van, put it in a tree stand, but then decided to let it be a Christmas tree in our front yard instead of in the house. It was dry and very prickly. Instead, we went to buy a GORGEOUS noble fir, as usual, and got it all decorated up. Lovely.

Wow. How exciting. That would have been SO cool if you could've used it for your tree.
Love your "inside" Christmas tree. We still don't have ours and my kids would tell you that we are the worst parents ever because of it. I am getting REALLY close to switching to an artificial tree.
What a wonderful honor for the blue spruce. I think it is great for your front yard, the picture made it look kind of like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.
I am also very amazed that Rama can sit like that with the kids!
Wow! I can't believe the whole tree fell over like that. How sad and weird... but cool that you tried to save it for your Christmas tree. Your noble fir looks just gorgeous, as usual. And I bet it looks great in the front yard.
